I have over 28 years of experience working with children, families and teachers in the fields of teaching, psychology, child and adolescent school counselling, assessment, special education and planning and programming for success.

My work with the Department of School Education involved both teaching and school counselling. Within Catholic Education I worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team as a psychologist, assessing and planning for students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities, behavioural and social difficulties.

More recently, as head of the Special Education Division, I led the team in supporting these students, their teachers, their schools and their families.

My principal interests are in the following areas:

• Assessment of intellectual and learning disabilities, with a particular interest in reading disorders
• Assessment of behavioural difficulties in mainstream settings and within the family, including development of programs of support
• Assisting schools and families with students with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Fostering inclusive practices for children with disabilities in mainstream settings

I have a commitment to evidence based methods so there is a strong research emphasis to therapy and to recommendations for further support or intervention.
